Songfinch Cost & Reviews 2026: Is It Worth It vs OurSong?

Songfinch Cost: The Quick Answer

Songfinch starts at $179.99 for a custom song written and recorded by a real artist. Each artist on the roster sets their own price — on 24 September 2026 the homepage roster ran from $179 to $1,099, with most between $199 and $299. Standard delivery is 7 days, rush to 24 hours is a paid option, revisions are free for 72 hours after delivery, and there are no refunds once the artist has started. It is a legitimate, long-established service — 4.5 out of 5 on Trustpilot from 23,605 reviews — and if a human artist performing your story is what you want, Songfinch does it well.

If what you want is a song written from your story that you can hear before paying, OurSong does that for $49.95, in minutes, with three revisions and a 30-day guarantee included. This page sets out what Songfinch costs, what its terms and reviews say, and where the two differ.

What Is Songfinch?

Songfinch is one of the most recognized custom song services in the world — it calls itself the “#1 original custom song marketplace” and says it has made 400,000+ songs since 2016. The model is simple: you browse a roster of 1,500+ musicians, choose an artist, share your story, review the draft lyrics with them, and about a week later you receive the finished song on a song page you can download and share.

Its core appeal is the human element. You pick the musician, and that musician interprets your story and performs the song. Songfinch has built a large, well-reviewed marketplace around that promise, and for many people the idea of a human artist crafting their song is exactly what they're paying for.

What you receive is the finished recording on its own song page, with a download and the option to add it to Spotify. Songfinch describes itself as “100% AI-free”: every song is written and performed by the artist you chose.

How Much Does Songfinch Cost?

As of 24 September 2026, Songfinch’s own FAQ says: “Your custom song experience starts at $179.99 USD.” There is no single price beyond that, because “artists set their own prices”. The homepage roster that day ran from $179 (Lucila Ruiu, Mek) through $199–$299 for most artists to $999 and $1,099 for two of them.

What can change the total:

• The artist you choose — the biggest variable. Most of the featured roster sits between $199 and $299.
• Rush delivery — “our standard turnaround is 7 days. In a hurry? Rush delivery can have your story turned into a song in as little as 24 hours.” The rush price is shown in the order flow.
• Revisions after 72 hours — free within the first 72 hours after delivery; after that “you’ll be asked to name a price for your artist’s time” (you can choose $0). Bigger reworks are negotiated with the artist.
• Merch and memorabilia — physical extras are sold separately.

So the answer to “how much is Songfinch?” is $179.99 at minimum, and more likely $199–$299 once you pick an artist you like. Payment is by card, PayPal, Apple Pay or Klarna instalments (US only).

Why is Songfinch this expensive? Because a musician spends real time writing, recording and producing each song, and Songfinch says $40M+ has been paid to artists. It isn’t overpriced for what it is; it is a premium, human-made product. The question is whether that is what you need. For the wider market see our custom song pricing breakdown and why most services charge $200+.

Is Songfinch AI?

This is one of the most common questions people ask, so it's worth answering plainly: no, Songfinch is not AI. Its entire model is built on real human artists. When you order, you're matched with a singer-songwriter who personally writes and records your song based on the story you submit.

The reason so many people ask is that custom songs as a category now include everything from instant AI generators to human-artist marketplaces, and it's reasonable to want to know which one you're paying for. With Songfinch, you're paying for a human artist — that's the whole point of the service, and it's a big part of why it costs what it does.

Is Songfinch Legit?

Yes — Songfinch is a legitimate, reputable company, one of the longest-running names in custom songs, with a Chicago-based support team available seven days a week. On Trustpilot (24 September 2026) it holds a 4.5 out of 5 from 23,605 reviews: 86% five-star, 3% one-star. The site itself cites “25,000+ verified five-star reviews across Google, TrustPilot, The Knot, and other trusted sites”.

The unhappy reviews cluster around three things: revisions that didn’t change enough (“I asked for revisions and was sent the same song”, June 2025), artists starting late (“Artist did not start working on song till 1 day before due date”, September 2025), and the price when the result disappoints. Two policies are worth knowing before you order:

• Refunds: “Once your artist has accepted your order, refunds and cancellations are not possible.” Before work begins, cancellation is possible in rare cases and “may be subject to a small cancellation fee”. If your artist becomes unavailable, Songfinch re-pairs you or refunds in full.
• Revisions: free within 72 hours of delivery, requested through the song page; after that, a price you name for the artist’s time.

There is nothing here that should raise a scam concern. The real question is value, and whether a no-refund policy on a $200 gift suits you.
